Cuculo means "cuckoo" in Italian. In the second movement of Beethoven's "Pastoral" Symphony, the clarinet plays the call of a cuckoo. It is a very memorable passage. The top plate is made from the natural stone "Emerald Pearl". Emerald Pearl is a type of black granite mined in Norway. It is a stone as beautiful as a pearl shining in the sea.
In recent years, high resolution audio has become popular. High resolution audio is only effective in an environment where the sound source, amplifier circuit, and speakers are all optimized. All Cuculo3 series models have a frequency response wider than 10Hz to 50kHz. They play digital audio sources with a sampling frequency of 96kHz losslessly.
Despite its compact size, this unit packs a massive 100W + 100W of power. Until now, analog amplifiers have won in terms of bass power, dynamic range, and distortion of small signals, but the Cuculo3pow has the quality to compete with analog amplifiers.
The 23-position rotary switch for volume control uses a highly reliable switch also used in measuring instruments. It has lower contact resistance and less distortion than typical switches, allowing for switching without losing even weak signals. Furthermore, the Cuculo3att is not a "dB step" attenuator. The Cuculo3att is based on the sound pressure curve (Type A) that humans naturally perceive. Input impedance is 10kilohm.
The latest graphic equalizers have extremely low distortion and noise, so insertion noise is almost imperceptible. The Cuculo3geq features five independent graphic equalizer elements. It can be used for a variety of purposes, including correcting room and speaker characteristics, correcting tonal differences between records and digital audio sources, and adjusting the sound quality between classical and jazz music.
While most wireless headphones use Bluetooth, there are drawbacks. Wireless headphones have built-in batteries, which are inherently large and heavy electronic components. Heavy headphones are undesirable, so as a result, smaller batteries are used, sacrificing power capacity. In this situation, the built-in amplification circuit must prioritize power efficiency over sound quality in order to withstand long playback times. In other words, the lighter the headphones and the longer the battery life, the worse the sound quality becomes. Also, batteries need to be charged. In situations where you cannot play music at high volume, such as late at night, wired headphones are recommended if you want to listen to music with high sound quality.
Analog discs record the amplitude of the music signal analogously into grooves. If recording is done without equalizing the low and high frequencies, the grooves for the low frequencies will be wider and the grooves for the high frequencies will be narrower. This results in greater distortion in the low frequencies and increased noise in the high frequencies. Therefore, by recording with the amplitude of the low frequencies reduced to 1/10 and the amplitude of the high frequencies increased tenfold, and then during playback with the low frequencies increased tenfold and the high frequencies reduced to 1/10, it is possible to extract a music signal with low distortion and low noise. This characteristic is called the RIAA curve, established by the Recording Industry Association of America in 1954, and has been used as a common characteristic worldwide since 1960. When playing analog records, a phono equalizer circuit that equalizes to the RIAA curve is essential.
The vacuum tubes used are two 5744WB triodes. This vacuum tube is a high-performance vacuum tube classified as a subminiature tube. It features dynamic and low noise. The powerful bass and overtones peculiar to vacuum tubes are beautiful.
